• Platts assessed SS400 HRC 3.0mm thick at $505-513/metric ton FOB China, flat on day. The same grade coil was assessed at $513-521/mt CFR East Asia, up $11.50/mt from the previous week. In Shanghai’s dealer market the same day, Q235 5.5mm HRC was assessed at Yuan 3,750-3,770/mt ($546-549/mt) ex-stock with 17% VAT, down Yuan 30/mt on day. – source: Platts

 

• Northern China-based steelmaker Shougang cut its February hot rolled coil list prices by Yuan 530/metric ton ($77/mt) to the northern China market, by Yuan 650/mt for those for eastern China sales and by Yuan 600/mt for southern China, a company official told Platts Friday, February 24. – source: Platts

• Platts assessed US Midwest shredded scrap at $315-$320/lt delivered mill on Friday, up $30/lt. - source: Platts

• On Friday, S&P Global Platts assessed its weekly CFR East Asia 120/130mm billet price at $430-$440/metric ton, up from the previous week's $430-$437/mt CFR. The implied midpoint of $435/mt was $1.50/mt higher on week. - source: Platts

 

• In Manila, 20,000 mt of 100mm billet from Russia, for May shipment, was ordered Thursday at $440-445/mt CFR, a trader heard. Another Russian mill was offering 20,000 mt of 125mm billet, for shipment by April 15, at $440/mt CFR Manila. - source: Platts

 

• S&P Global Platts assessed its daily CIS export billet price at $400/metric ton FOB Black Sea Friday, up $5/mt on day. - source: Platts

• The S&P Global Platts weekly assessment for 10 mm diameter rebar held flat at an average midpoint of Real 1,816/mt ($585.12/mt) ex-works, taxes excluded, based on a range of Real 1,790-1,842/mt. - source: Platts

 

HRC/P

• S&P Global Platts maintained its north European hot rolled coil price assessment at €565-575/metric ton ($598.06-608.64/mt) ex-works Ruhr Friday. - source: Platts
