Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) announced to remove the safeguard measures on the imports of color-coated steel plate from four local enterprises in addition to the previously announced nine local enterprises.
The main related products included alloy or non-alloy color-coated, cold-rolled, galvanized steel plates and color-coated galvanized steel plates.
In this May, the MoIT introduced the restriction of country’s annual quota on color-coated steel plate imports, and to impose the safeguard duty rate of 19% on the origin country which exceeds the country’s ruled annual quotas.
The customs tariff codes of the involved products were 7210.7010, 72010.7090, 71212.4010, 71212.4020, 7212.4090, 7225.9990, 7226.9919 and 7226.9999.
The four enterprises exempted from import safeguard duty were Tan Ha Educational Equipment Company Limited of US$315.05/ton, Daesung Vina Company Limited of US$686.68/ton, Ton Truong Thang Trading and Production Company Limited of US$121.05/ton, and Superior Multi-Packaging (Vietnam) Company Limited of US$1,008/ton, separately.
