Russia’s MMK, one of the country’s largest steelmakers, said on Thursday its 2017 crude steel output was up 2.5 percent year-on-year at 12.9 million tonnes.
In the fourth quarter, crude steel output edged down 0.9 percent quarter-on-quarter, to 3.29 million tonnes.
MMK said in a statement that it expects results for the first quarter of this year to be affected by seasonal factors, but this would be offset by higher sales prices for finished products on the company’s domestic and export markets.
