Dung Quat Hoa Phat steel company collaborated with Danieli Group from Italy to produce stainless in Vietnam. The stainless steel outputs were anticipated to be about 600,000 tons to a million tons, which to strengthen steel value chain, exports and reduce dependency on import commodities, according to the Dung Quat Hoa Phat steel company’s statistic.
On the other hand, according to the statistics released by the Taiwan Steel & Iron Industries Association (TSIIA), Vietnam was the main Taiwan’s stainless steel export market. Taiwan exported around 211,000 tons stainless steel, accounted for 14.2% of the total exports to Southeast Asia.
The Vietnam new stainless steel factory could not only threat Southeast Asia’s market share of Taiwan but also impact Taiwan’s exports to Vietnam.
