Turkish finished steel production in the first half of 2018 increased by 9 pct to 20.5 mln tons YoY, according to the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD).
In H1 2018, long steel production grew by 0.6 pct to 12.6 mln tons and flat steel output up by 25.8 pct to 8 mln tons YoY.
Total finished steel consumption increased by 11.5 pct YoY to 18 mln tons in H1 2018.
In the same period, domestic flat steel consumption grew by 18.3 pct to 9.6 mln tons YoY. Long steel products consumption increased by 4.6 pct to 8.4 mln tons YoY.
Flat steel consumption accounted for 53 pct of total domestic steel consumption.
