• On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the May rebar contract closed CNY 4/tonne lower than Friday at CNY 3,811/t ($569/t), while the same contract for HRC closed down CNY 34/t at CNY 3,791/t. – source: Kallanish

Scrap

• The daily index for Northern Europe-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) was calculated at $310.38 per tonne cfr on Monday, up by just $0.84 per tonne from Friday. – source: Fastmarkets

• Fastmarkets' weekly import price assessment for slab imports to Southeast Asia and East Asia was $460-480 per tonne cfr on Monday, unchanged from a week earlier. - source: Fastmarkets

HRC/P

• A wide gulf remains in the US sheet market, highly dependent upon volume, mill, and region, Kallanish hears from market sources. Kallanish increased the floor of its prices on Monday to $710-750/short ton for hot-rolled and $820-860/st for cold-rolled. All prices are ex-works, domestic mill. - source: Kallanish

 

• Kallanish maintained its A36 price at $960-980/short ton, a level its occupied for several weeks. Prior to last month’s $40/st increase, prices had been likewise steady at $940-960/st. - source: Kallanish
