Iran’s major miners increased iron ore concentrate output by 19% on-year in the 11 months through 19 February to 41.92 million tonnes, Kallanish learns from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro).
Gol Gohar accounted for 14.45mt, followed by Chadormalu with 8.22mt and Central Iron Ore with 4.91mt. Next came Middle East Mines and Mineral Industry Development (Midhco) with 4.57mt, Gohar Zamin with 4.07mt and Sangan Opal Parsian with 2.77mt.
Merchant run-of-mine ore output at six major Iranian miners, meanwhile, rose 15% in the 11 months to 6.38mt.
Sangan Iron Ore Complex was the biggest producer with 1.74mt, followed by Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company with 1.63mt. Central Iron Ore's output was1.31mt, Iranian Central Plateau Iron Ore Mines Complex produced 916,687t and Chadormalu, 378,264t.
Iranian direct reduced iron output, meanwhile, also grew 19% in the 11 months to 24.3mt (see Kallanish passim).
