Mexico begins anti-dumping investigation on Chinese stainless

The Mexican government has decided to open an investigation into the alleged dumping of cold-rolled stainless steel imports from China and Taiwan. This follows a complaint by local producer and trader Outokumpu Mexinox (OTK), Kallanish learns from official documents.

Mexico`s Secretary of Economy noted that there is sufficient evidence of damage to the domestic production of cold-rolled, heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant stainless steel flat products. The investigation covers products with a width greater than or equal to 600mm and of thickness between 0.3-1.0mm, and of width less than 600mm and thickness between 0.3-4.0mm. These are classified under codes 7219.34.01, 7219.35.01 and 7220.20.02.

The period of investigation is between 1 October 2017 and 30 September 2018.
