Iran’s major iron ore producers increased concentrate production 4% on-year in the seven months through 22 October to 27.6 million tonnes, Kallanish learns from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro).
Gol Gohar was the largest producer with 9.43mt, followed by Chadormalu with 5.8mt, Middle East Mines and Mineral Industry Development (Midhco) with 3.31mt, Central Iron Ore with 2.9mt and Gohar Zamin with 2.56mt. Next came Sangan Opal Parsian with 1.74mt and National Mining and Industrial Development Company with 1.29mt.
Merchant run-of-mine ore output at five major Iranian miners, meanwhile, slumped -40% in the seven months to 2.72mt. Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company produced 1.33mt, Iranian Central Plateau Iron Ore Mines Complex 531,957t, Central Iron Ore 335,525t, Chadormalu 269,500t and Sangan Iron Ore Complex 247,477t.
Six large Iranian pelletising firms, meanwhile, produced -2% less in the seven months at 15.69mt. The main producers were Chadormalu, Gol Gohar, Midhco, Opal Parsian Sangan, Sangan Iron Ore Complex and Sabanour Mining.
