Mexico reviews Chinese steel wire anti-dumping duty

Mexico has started a sunset review to potentially extend compensatory quota of $2.58/kg on steel wire from China, according to a document from the local authorities monitored by Kallanish.

The country’s Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) announced on 2 December that Mexican companies Deacero and Aceros Camesa have complained that the removal of duties would negatively impact domestic producers.

The product under investigation is classified under HS codes 7312.10.01, 7312.10.05, 7312.10.07 and 7312.10.99.

The Mexican Secretariat of Economy (SE) determined the period of investigation should be from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019 as announced in the DOF. Anti-dumping compensatory quota will remain in effect during the review.

The AD measure was first imposed in December 2014.
