Vietnam’s PM welcomes Siam Cement Group leader
This time is the best opportunity for foreign investors, including Thai businesses, to choose Viet Nam as their destination, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung told Kan Trakulhoon, President of the Siam Cement Group (SCG) in Thailand.
Receiving the SCG President in Ha Noi yesterday, Dung reaffirmed Viet Nam’s consistent policy to create favourable conditions for foreign businesses to invest in Viet Nam.
For his part, Kan Trakulhoon informed the PM about his groups’ investment orientation and plans in Viet Nam, including its involvement in a major oil refinery project.
Trakulhoon also took the occasion to present US$100,000 to help Vietnamese victims of Typhoon Lekima.
SCG, one of Thailand ’s three largest industrial groups, has been in Viet Nam since 1996 with investment in the petro-chemical, paper and construction material industries
