Viet Nam prioritises infrastructure in investment promotion

Viet Nam is prioritizing infrastructure in its foreign and domestic investment encouragement programmes, a governmental official said.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Bich Dat told a seminar on Viet Nam’s infrastructure held in Ha Noi on November 21 that the country’s infrastructure system is failing to meet the requirements of economic development.

Therefore, a list of national projects calling for investment in the 2006-2010 periods has singled out infrastructure as a top priority.

The deputy said the seminar, which was part of the on-going International Trade Fair for Construction and Building Materials (Con-build Vietnam 2007) is very useful in providing latest information on the prospects and the development of infrastructure in Viet Nam for both domestic and foreign businesses to consider investment in this field.
