Japan's steel exports up 8.6% in April
Japanese steel exports increased by 8.6 percent in April in
comparison with 2007 fighres. The data showed 3.057 million tons were shipped.
Exports to China
were 559,000 tons, up by 11.4 percent than the same time of last year; ASEAN
took 797,000 tons, up by 19.9 percent from a year earlier. America
decreased its intake by 25.3 percent to 88,000 tons; EU took 31,000 tons, down
by year-on-year 11.8 percent.
Moreover, Japan
imported 801,308 tons of steel products in April, decreased by 2.7 percent
compared to the same period of last year.
