Asian steel imports from Russia, Ukraine surge
Russia’s
Severstal said that its HRC price reached CFR US$1,245/ton for August shipments
to Turkey,
CRC price increased to CFR US$1,395/ton, and hot-dip galvanized price was CFR
US$1,445/ton.
In addition, Russia
and Ukraine's export volume
of billet to Asia increased to 2.4 million
tons in the first quarter.
According to the Iron & Steel Statistics Bureau (ISSB), Russia and Ukraine's steel export total was
15.5 million tons in the first quarter of this year, a decrease of 1 percent
compared to the same time last year. Though the two countries’ exports to Asia increased by 80 percent, exports to other regions
decreased.
Russia
and Ukraine's steel export
volume to Asia reached 3.2 million tons,
constituting an 80 percent increase.
