Chinese steel export prices continue to move up
As demand remains very strong, China’s domestic steel producers
will continue to raise plate export price and it is expected that the price
rises will continue in July.
Currently HR coil exported to south-east Asia
was quoted at FOB US$1,040-1,050/ton.
It is said that now the common plate average price from China’s
secondary mills are FOB US$1,170-1180/MT and from major mills, FOB US$1,280-1,300/ton.
But the export quantity is very small and mostly consists of ship plate.
Export price of ship plate keeps rising and the market is
very strong, so some mill prices have reached FOB US$1,400/ton.
