Taiwan’s mills plan to lower GI domestic prices
Due to local slow demand and competition from China’s low-priced GI exports, Taiwan domestic mills considered
lowering GI domestic price to acquire more orders.
Currently, the average price of hot dipped galvanized steel
from China
is quoted at about NT$30,800/ton. However, HGI prices of local mills are
between NT$33,000/ton and NT$33,500/ton, and CGI prices are around
NT$34,500/ton to NT$35,500/ton.
Apparently, local mills’ price is not so competitive that
they have to lower price to gain more orders.
