Taiwan's wire rod imports decline by 47% in July

Taiwan’s import volumes of wire rod in July decreased by 47 percent to 17,990 tons from last month; size of D < 14mm totaled 13,683 tons and the average price was NT$28,730/ton.

The import volumes in the first seven months reached 309,391 tons, decreased by 16 percent compared to the same period last year.

Besides, the exports in July decreased by 23 percent to 17,948 tons from last month. The imports of D<14mm totaled 16,335 tons, and the average price was around NT$27,490/ton. The total imports in first seven months hit 145,412 tons, a rise of 4 percent compared to the same period of 2007.
