Middle Eastern flat products market slow
Due to low demand, price of rolled steel (flat) continues to drop in Middle East. This affected purchase decisions of many potential customers. They are likely to wait for even lower prices as well as stability in market. Lebanon’s domestic market is like other MEA countries where importers are not taking any risky purchases. Price of hot rolled steel is $800/tonne, that of cold rolled is $900/tonne and $1050/tonne for galvanized steel. In Jordan, hot and cold rolled steel is priced at $760/tonne and $810/tonne respectively. In Iran, hot and cold rolled steel is priced at $780/tonne and $970/tonne respectively.
