Japan’s scrap exports up in September

According to the related statistics, Japan exported 469,000 tons of scrap in September, increased by 12.7 percent compared to the same period of last year.

 

During the first 9 months, Japan’s scrap exports totaled 4.438 million tons, and the export is expected to touch about 5.92 million tons in the whole year 2008.

 

From January to September, Korea was the biggest export destination at 2.189 million tons, down by 16.4 percent year-on-year. Shipments to China totaled 1.906 million tons, up by 12.5 percent from a year earlier.
