Steel sales down (Vietnam)

October's steel sales totalled at 120,000 tonnes, marking another reduction since the second quarter of this year, reported Pham Chi Cuong, chair of Vietnam Steel Association (VSA).

The price of steel billet continued to fall by US$60 a tonne from October to US$330-340 a tonne at present (for steel imported from Eastern Europe).

He added that the purchasing power of Northern markets remained low against the delivery price of 10-10.1 million dong a tonne, one million dong lower than that of southern markets.
