US crude steel output down by 43.8% last week

 

According to the American Iron & Steel Industries (AISI), US mills produced 1.182 million short tons of crude steel in the week ending December 6.

 

The figure was decreased by 1.3 percent from 1.197 million short tons in the previous week and down by 43.8 percent from 2.102 million short tons during the same time of last year.

 

Among them, output in southern area totaled 347,000 short tons, Indiana and Chicago had 312,000 short tons.
