Taiwanese flat product more attractive to Asian buyers
It seems that current Taiwanese hot-rolled product price is more attractive to overseas buyers since Taiwan’s price is for C&F Asia US$500/ton only compared with China’s price for FOB US$560/ton.
China’s flat market has been boosted by strong domestic demand, which has brought days of rebound to both domestic and export steel prices.
As a result, south-east buyers who have no stocks on hand tend to buy from Taiwan these days and they expect lower price for at least US$60-70 than China’s price.
It is predicted as more inquires coming in, Taiwanese plate price is possibly to rise and it is going to reach more than NT$17,000/ton in short run.
