Vietnam`s Vung Tau launches multi-purpose seaport

Ba Ria-Vung Tau - The oil-rich southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau commenced operations at a new seaport on February 6.

 

The new port has been built to handle exports of nitrogenous fertiliser from Phu My plant, as well as a range of other petroleum products.

 

On the day of the inauguration, the port welcomed a 264m-long Bahamanian cruise liner, the Legend of the Sea, carrying more than 1,800 international tourists and a 735-strong crew.

 

The port was built at a cost of over 530 billion VND (US$30.21 million) and covers a land area of just under 26.5 ha.
