China's scrap imports reach record high in March
China imported 1.36 million tons of scrap in March, reaching a record 440 percent hike year-on-year, the total CIF value was US$473.96 million with average price at US$348.5/ton.
China imported 3.18 million tons scrap in the first three months, a 420 percent up year-on-year, the total CIF value was US$1.04 billion with average price at US$329.1/ton.
China imported 460,000 tons of steel billet and semi-finished products in March, a 2,300 percent up year-on-year, and the figure for the first three months was 910,000 tons and a 1,820 percent up year-on-year.
