Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) has announced that the country's consumption for construction steel continued increasing and retained at high level in the past few months.
The statistics showed that in June 2009, the steel sales volume was estimated at 330,000 tonnes, and in the previous two months, the average steel volume to be sold was 400,000 tonnes per month.
In H1 of 2009, the total sold out volume of construction steel reached 1.9 million tonnes, up 3 percent year-on-year.
The production of steel billet and finished steel in May touched over 450,000 tonnes, an increase of 50 percent against the same period last year. In June, the steel production is expected to be over 340,000 tonnes.
