Perwaja Holdings Bhd registered a net loss of RM84.91mil in the second quarter ended June 30, from a net profit of RM147.4mil a year ago due to high production costs and lower steel prices.
Revenue fell 35% to RM432.33mil from RM665.17mil in the previous corresponding period, the company told
Loss per share was 15.16 sen compared with earnings per share of 29.48 sen.
The group said it was cautiously optimistic on its prospects this year due to recent signs of improving steel demand.
