The country's steel sales in August declined by 40,000 tonnes, still higher than the average of previous years thanks to the effect of the government's demand stimulus package, Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) reported.
At this time, the steel price continued rising to 11.2 million-11.8 million dong per tonne of construction steel (VAT exclusive), 300,000 dong per tonne higher than the price of early August.
Steel billet is offered at $540 per tonne.
