Truong Vinh Trong, deputy prime minister participated the opening ceremony of the first cement plant in Dien Bien province that is located in Sam Mun commune, Dien Bien Dist on October 1.
The construction work for the plant, with total designed capacity of 1,000 tonnes of cement per day, was officially started in July 2007 with investment capital of over 650 billion dong. The main investor for this project was Dien Bien Cement Joint Stock Co. The plant will produce the cement products with European standards of PCB30, PCB40 and PC55.
Nguyen Viet Binh, vice chair of Dien Bien province people's committee stressed that the operation of the cement plant would play an important role in meeting the market demands for high-quality cement in the local region as well as contributes to the construction work of Tay Trang key economic complex. In addition, it would help take full use of the local natural resources used in production process and create jobs for 500 local employees.
