China auto import market grows steadily in q1-q3

China's automobile import market steadily grew over the first three quarters, said a report released by China Automobile Trading Co., a large state-owned trade company.

From Q1 to Q3, the number of imported passenger vehicles obtaining license plates totaled 246,000, up 16.9 per cent from the same period last year.

The volume of automobiles imported via Customs came to 252,000, dropping 10 per cent from the same period of last year, and the decline had narrowed.

Driven by a brighter economic outlook, China's automotive import market will maintain its steady growth next year, said Ding Hongxiang, the general manager of CATC.
