9 more industrial projects face legal complications (Thailand)

Srisuwan Janya, president of the Stop Global Warming Association, today filed a petition against the construction of nine industrial projects in Map Ta Phut, citing that these projects have not yet complied with the Constitution's Article 67 (2).

The petition was filed to the

Central Administrative Court
.

He noted that the petition contains the signatures of 35 villagers who are asking for the court's injunction until the projects follow through the guidelines specified by the Constitution.

The projects are related to steel, power generating and jetty businesses.

He said that the association is also making a similar move next month against 16-17 projects in Chon Buri, which will encompass about 100 villagers.

All the relevant projects are part of the 181 industrial projects earlier enlisted by the association for lack of compliance with the Constitution.
