Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) expected that its steel sales in volume may drop to 350,000 ~400,000 tons in August from July.
Local suppliers would keep its prices unchanged to fight with the steel imports, but they may hike the prices in September if the market sentiment is stable.
Currently, steel wire was quoted at about 14 million dong/ton EXW including taxes, which is equivalent to US$718/ton. Meanwhile, the retail price of construction steel was quoted at 12.5~12.9 million dong/ton, about US$640/ton before taxes.
