Steel price report as of November 3, 2011

Scrap

-          Indian ferrous scrap price fall. Shredded scrap in containers fell by $5-8 per tonne to $440-450 per tonne CFR – source: MB

-          US H1 scrap average prices at $339.17 per long ton on October 31st 2011 – source: Yieh

Semis

-          Ukrainian mills export offers of billet down to $580 FOB Black Sea – source: SBB

-          CIS, Turkish billet prices steady at $620-630 per tonne CFR to the Persian Gulf – source: MB

-          Billet offers into southeast Asia feel for a fifth week. Offers from south Korea and Taiwan are at $640-650 per tonne CFR down from $660-670 – source: MB

Bar

-          Shagang cuts rebar prices by $24 per tonne. Its 16-25mm HRB 335 rebar became $689, with 17% VAT – source: SBB

-          Hebei Iron & Steel (Hegang) kept its rebar prices unchanged after slashed prices by RMB 300-400 per tonne ten days ago –source: SBB

-          Rebar import price dipped significantly from $680-690 CFR to $630 per tonne CFR – source: SBB

HRC

-          US HRC prices are now mostly sold at $620-640 per short ton, with deals for 1,000 short ton going for close to $600 per short ton – source: SBB

-          Chinese HRC prices of Q235 5.5 mm fell to RMB 4,050 – 4,080 ($637-642) with 17% VAT in Shanghai – source: SBB

-          HRC prices into the Persian Gulf region are unchanged at $640-680 per tonne CFR – source: MB

-          Indian mills cut HRC export offers by $20 to $650-660 per tonne FOB – source: MB
