Steel price report as of December 13, 2011

Scrap

-          UK ferrous scrap price for HMS 1&2 (80:20) slightly increased to 225-240 Pound per tonne ($353-377) – source: MB

Semis

-          North China billet prices were stable at RMB 3,830 ($603) per tonne ex-work for 150x150 mm Q235 billet and may dip in the next few days – source: SBB

Bar

-          UK rebar buyers expect prices to rise slightly above 500 Pound per tonne CFR in January – source: SBB

-          In Shanghai, offers for 16-25mm HRB 335 rebar unchanged at RMB 4,280-4,300 per tonne ($673-676) with 17% VAT – source: SBB

HRC

-          Korean domestic HRC prices fell to below KRW 800,000 per tonne ($693). Spot prices of China-origin HRC lower to KRW 770,000 – 780,000 ($667-676) – source: SBB

-          Ukrainian HRC export price remained the same with a small difference of $5-10 per tonne at $540 per tonne – source: SBB

-          BaoSteel HRC remained unchanged at RMB 4,612 per tonne excluded 17% VAT – source: SBB
