Malaysian Prime Minister Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak announced 21 new projects under seven NKEAs expected to boost GNIby RM4.59 billions in 2020.
The projects, amounting to RM20.46bil in committed investments are expected to create 39,918 job opportunities.
The 21 projects fall under the agriculture, business services, education, healthcare, wholesale and retail, electrical and electronics and Greater KL/Klang Valley NKEAs.
In the agriculture NKEA, there is committed investment of RM456.69 millions, contributing some RM367.58 millions in GNI and creating 2,539 jobs by 2020.
Under the business services NKEA, there is a committed investment of RM2.4 billions, contributing RM1.41 billion to GNI in 2020 and creating 10,909 jobs.
Wholesale and retail NKEA, which will provide 16,363 jobs, has a committed investment of RM466.8 millions with GNI contribution of RM1.1 billion.
RM107.14 millions of investment go into the healthcare NKEA, contributing some RM238.06 millions to GNI and creating 3,735 jobs.
Education NKEA will have RM535.58 millions investments, with GNI contribution of RM146.39 millions and 660 job creations.
Under the electrical and electronics NKEA is RM4bil committed investment and 1,000 jobs of which 400 will be highly-skilled employment to be created.
The Greater KL/Klang Valley NKEA will have committed investment of RM12.5 billions, contributing RM1.34 billion. This will create 4,712 jobs.
