Malaysia’s two ferrosilicon projects to impact China’s exports

It’s reported that the two new ferrosilicon projects in Sarawak, Malaysia will impact the Chinese exports once they are put into operation in the next two years, according to the forecast made by some Chinese ferrosilicon exporters.

It’s estimated that the two ferrosilicon projects in Malaysia will start production in 2014, which will raise the country’s annual ferrosilicon outputs to 370,000 tons.

Industry sources said that Malaysia’s ferrosilicon production will be sold to nearby countries in Southeast Asia, especially Japan, which requires 600,000 tons of ferrosilicon per year.
