Recently, some steelmakers in China have reduced the export quotes of H beams to South Korea by US$10/ton. It’s said that some South Korean H beam importers planned to conclude the orders.
It’s known that as the H beam prices have fallen in the Chinese domestic market, the Chinese steelmakers have cut the export prices to gain orders.
At present, the prices of small-size H beams offered by Masteel are at US$600~US$610/ton FOB.
In fact, the South Korean steelmakers have taken some measurement to fight against H beam imports, causing the country’s imports of H beams fall dramatically.
However, it’s said that some South Korean importers planned to restart to import H beam from China due to low prices.
