China Steel Prices

Flat

-          Export prices for commercial-grade, boron-containing hot rolled coil have risen to $530-540 per tonne fob, from $500-510 per tonne fob a month ago – source: MB

-          China's HDG export offers have been raised to $660-680 fob for December shipment, up $10-20 per tonne from that for November,

Scrap

-          In the US, the weekly domestic shredded obsolete scrap reference price plunged by $16/long ton to $335/l.t. delivered US Midwest mill – source: SBB

-          Japanese scrap prices have fallen further to 23,000~23,500/ton in the Japanese Osaka market3 on October 10th- source: Yieh

Bar

-          Korean domestic rebar prices weakened by KRW 10,000-20,000/tonne ($9-18/t) last week – source: SBB

-          Nucor Corp cut rebar prices by $25 per ton ($1.25 per hundredweight) and merchant bar and structural products by $40 per ton ($2 per cwt) effective with shipments on Thursday October 11 – source: MB

HRC

-          Korean spot prices for hot rolled coil produced locally have weakened by KRW 20,000-30,000/tonne ($18-27/t) from two weeks. SS400 grade HRC from Posco was pegged at around KRW 750,000/t ($675/t) as of Friday while similar materials from Hyundai Steel were KRW 10,000- 20,000/t lower, dealers said – source: SBB

-          The cost of HRC coming into Southern Europe dropped to €460-465 ($593-599) per tonne cfr, down from last week's €470-475 per tonne cfr – source: MB
