According to statistics, Indonesia imported 143,000 tons of scraps in July, slumping by 43.3% year on year and decreasing by 16.4% from a month ago.
In July, the US was the largest scrap exporter to Indonesia with 34,000 tons, rising by 65.5%; Australia was the second largest one with 30,000 tons, falling by 13.8%; Singapore was the third largest one with 18,000 tons, increasing by 18.2%, all compared to that in the same period of a year ago.
In the first seven months of this year, Indonesia’s scrap imports amounted to 983,000 tons, decreasing by 21.7% year on year.
In the given period of time, Australia was the largest scrap supplier with 178,000 tons, jumping by 133.7%; the US was the second largest one with 151,000 tons, falling by 7.1%; Singapore was the third largest one with 105,000 tons, increasing by 18.4%, all compared to that in the same period of 2011.
