China’s Steel Prices

Flat

-          China’s prices for 2.75mm HRC continued to increased by RMB 5 per tonne to RMB 4,031 per tonne; prices for 1.0mm CRC dropped by RMB 2 per tonne to RMB 4,594 per tonne – source: SteelHome

-          China’s prices for 8mm medium plate edge dipped by RMB1 per tonne to RMB 4,064 per tonne – source: SteelHome

Long

-          China’s construction steel prices show modest gains today, following previous prolonged sustained falls. Prices for 6.5mm high speed wire rod increased by RMB 4 per tonne to RMB 3,613 per tonne and prices for 20mm rebar reached RMB 3,616 per tonne, up RMB 2 per tonne – source: SteelHome

Steel Prices in other countries

Scrap

-          In eastern China’s Jiangsu province, prevailing buying prices for heavy melting scrap over 6mm thick were hovering at Yuan 2,720-2,750/metric ton ($437-442) on a delivered-to-mill basis with 17% VAT Wednesday – source: SBB

-          US HMS 80:20 (1&2) and shredded scraps to Taiwan are at US$368/ton C&F and US$375/ton C&F respectively, falling by US$12~US$14/ton from the previous quotes – source; Yieh

Semis

-          The London Metal Exchange’s three-month steel billet contract price widened its range to $310-320 per tonne on Tuesday December 4, from $315-320 per tonne on Monday. Cash prices fell to $290-295 per tonne, from $306-310 a day earlier – source: MB

-          CIS billet for December rolling has continued its fall, edging down by $5-10 to $505-510 per tonne fob Black Sea – source: MB

Bar

-          Peru’s rebar prices from domestic producers are flat at around $840-900/mt delivered, without taxes. Rebar imported from T urkey reportedly costs $700-750/mt CFR, according to traders – source: SBB

HRC

-          India’s transaction prices for IS 2062 grade A/B structural HRC, 3mm thick and above, presently average Rs33,000-33,500/metric ton ($605-615) ex-works, up from Rs 32,000-33,000/mt ($587-605) last month– source: SBB.

-          Retail prices for 3.0mm thick Posco-origin SS400 commodity grade HRC offered by local dealers remain pegged at KRW 760,000-770,000/mt ($699-708), largely unchanged for almost a month – source: SBB

-          Russia’s Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) sold its December- and January-rolled HRC at $535-545 per tonne fob Black and Baltic sea – source: MB
