China’s Steel Prices

Flat

-          China’s prices of Q235 5.5mm HRC on Monday were prevailing at Yuan 3,980-4,020/metric ton ($639-645/mt) with 17% VAT in Shanghai and at Yuan 4,130-4,170/mt with VAT in Guangdong’s Lecong steel market, both almost unchanged from the previous Friday – source: SBB

Steel Prices in other countries

Scrap

-          Major scrap suppliers Fengli and Jiangsu Heruisheng were offering heavy melting scrap over 6mm thick at Yuan 3,050-3,100/metric ton delivered to mill with 17% VAT – source: SBB

-          Feng Hsin, one of the major steel long product makers in Taiwan increased its scrap prices by NT$400/ton to NT$11,500~NT$12,200/ton for this week – source: Yieh

Semis

-          CIS billet prices pushed up $10-15 to $520 per tonne fob Black Sea before January output was sold out – source :MB

Bar

-          Feng Hsin, one of the major steel long product makers in Taiwan announced to raise its rebar prices by NT$400/ton to NT$18,900/ton for this week – source: Yieh

-          Taiwanese local buyers have rushed to purchase rebar, pushing up prices to NT$18000/ton this week – source: Yieh

HRC

-          Ukraine is offering commercial quality HRC at $540-550/mt CFR Turkey for February delivery while Russian offers are higher at $550-560/mt CFR Turkey– source: SBB

-          Turkish mills’ HRC offers to the local market are at $600-620/mt ex-works, up by $10-15/mt since last week – source: SBB
