Scrap

-          Offers of the US HMS 80:20 (1&2) to Taiwan have increased to US$392/ton C&F – source: Yieh

-          Posco P&S increased its scrap purchasing prices by KRW10, 000~KRW15, 000 won/ton at its Gwangyang work – source: Yieh

Semis

-          The London Metal Exchange’s three-month steel billet contract price fell to $310-320 per tonne on Thursday January 3, from $315-325 per tonne on Wednesday – source :MB

Bar

-          In France, rebar prices are stable at €260-265/mt base delivered – source: SBB

-          An electric furnace steel mill in northern Taiwan increased its rebar prices to NT$18,700/ton – source: Yieh

HRC

-          Offer prices for re-rolling grade 2mm thick hot rolled coil from Japan, Korea and T aiwan have exceeded $600/metric ton CFR Southeast Asia, up from $590-600/mt CFR two weeks ago – source: SBB

-          In SE Asia, offer prices for 2mm Chinese boron-added 2mm HRC have shot up to $610/mt CFR and to even as high at $620-630/mt CFR this week – source: SBB

-          Turkish hot rolled coil producers have increased export offers by $10-20/metric ton to $575-590/mt FOB – source: SBB

-          January list prices for Posco remained at KRW 3.5 million/metric ton ($3,276/mt) for grade 304 HRC and KRW 3.77 million/mt ($3,528/mt) for CRC. Prices for ferritic grade 430 HRC and CRC also stayed unchanged at KRW 2.04 million/mt and KRW 2.42 million/mt respectively – source: SBB
