CISA Expects China Crude Steel Output to Hit 720 Mln Tonnes

Wang Haiqing, President of China Iron and Steel Association revealed on the conference held on Beijing that China has aggregately produced 660.13 million tonnes of crude steel in the first eleven months in 2012. Based on this number, he expects the total production in 2012 would come to 720 million tonnes.

 

It is heard that the growth of crude steel production in Jan.-Nov., 2012 is 2.9 percent, down 6.9 percent compared to that in 2011 and hitting a record low.

 

Mr. Wang also pointed out that fixed assets investment in China steel industry amounts to 594.6 billion yuan in Jan.-Nov., 2012, up 6.5 percent year on year. He forecasts there would be 50 million tonnes of new capacity are added in last year.
