China’s Steel Prices

Flat

-       Chinese prices of 2.75mm HRC increased by RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 4,279 per tonne; prices of 1.0mm CRC reached RMB 4,817 per tonne, up RMB 16 per tonne – source: SteelHome

-       Chinese prices of 8mm medium plate up by RMB 8 per tonne to RMB 4,314 per tonne – source: SteelHome

-       Chinese offer prices for cut HR sheet have risen this week to $630-635/mt CFR Singapore, up from last week’s $620-25/mt CFR – source: SBB

Long

-       Construction steel prices in China continued to increase. Prices of 6.5mm HPB235 increased by RMB 4 per tonne to RMB 3,743 per tonne and that of 20mm HRB335 gained by RMB 6 per tonne to RMB 3,752 per tonne – source: SteelHome

Steel Prices in other countries

Scrap

-          Spanish scrap merchants confirmed this week’s offers for E40 (shredded) at €315/mt delivered, and E3 at €290/mt delivered. In Italy scrap prices are reported to be for E3 €300-305/mt delivered and E40 €315-325/mt delivered.- source: SBB

-          AMM’s scrap price survey of buyers, dealers and brokers said they expect a sideways-to-down-$10-per-gross-ton movement across various regions, while another 25% said the market could decline by $10-20 per ton – source: MB

Bar

-          In Italy the transaction prices for rebar are at €235-240/mt ex-works base prices (€485-490/mt ex-works effective), according to local producers and buyers – source: SBB

-          Malaysian mills are offering rebar of 16mm or thicker at 2,150 ringgit ($699) per tonne on a locally delivered basis, compared with 2,130-2,150 ringgit per tonne last week – source: MB

HRC/P

-          Indian mills are said to be eyeing price hikes for HRC of Rupees 500-1,500/mt in February – source: SBB
