According to data, Indonesia imported 1.944 million tons of scraps in 2012, falling by 9.9% year on year.
Among them, 409,000 tons were from the US, soaring by 63.9%; 392,000 tons were from Australia, jumping by 111.1% and 211,000 tons were from Singapore, increasing by 31.3%, all compared to those in a year ago.
In last December, Indonesia imported 259,000 tons of scraps, rising by 15.5% year on year.
