Long steel prices
- In Beijing, grade III rebar traded at 3,580-3,640 yuan ($574-584) per tonne, down 20 yuan ($3) per tonne from Wednesday – source: MB
Flat steel prices
- On April 18, Q235 5.5mm HRC prices were around Yuan 3,720-3,750/metric ton ($602-607/mt) with 17% VAT in Shanghai and Yuan 3,800-3,820/mtwith VAT in Lecong, down Yuan 45/mt and Yuan 60/mt respectively from the previous day – source: SBB
Steel Prices in other countries
Scrap
- The Korean mill last contracted Japanese scrap this week at Yen 32,000/mt FOB ($325/mt) for H2, and Yen 35,500/mt for shindachi grade – source: SBB
- Tokyo Steel also reduced its scrap purchasing prices by ¥500~¥1,000/ton on April 17th. The base prices of P&S scraps and Shindachi scraps dropped by ¥1,000/ton to ¥34,000~¥34,500/ton – source: Yieh
- US’s H1 scrap in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Philadelphia were at US$354.17/long ton on April 15th, 2013, remaining flat from a week ago – source: Yieh
Bar
- Export prices for rebar from Italy, Spain and Portugal are now at €460-470 ($604-617) per tonne fob for production in May or June, compared with €460-465 ($604-611) last week – source: MB
- Domestic rebar in Spain, Italy and Portugal is now being traded at €455-490 ($597-643) per tonne delivered for April production, unchanged week-on-week – source: MB
HRC/P
- CIS-origin HRC import offer prices now stand at $555-580 per tonne cfr. Romania offered HRC at $600-610 per tonne cfr Turkey – source: MB
