According to statistics, Indonesia’s scrap imports totaled 230,000 tons in April, jumping by 76.8% year on year.
Among them, 57,000 tons were from the US, surging by 300.8%; 50,000 tons were from Australia, increasing by 61.8% and 22,000 tons were from Singapore, rising by 36.2%, all compared to the figures in the same month of a year ago.
In the first four months of this year, Indonesia’s scrap imports amounted to 826,000 tons, jumping by 49.8% year on year.
In the given period of time, the US was the largest scrap exporter to Indonesia with 221,000 tons, soaring by 334.2%; Australia was the second largest one with 155,000 tons, increasing by 109.1% and Singapore was the third largest one with 97,000 tons, rising by 58.3%, all compared to those in the same period of 2012.
