Long steel prices
- Spot prices for 18-25mm diameter HRB400 rebar sourced from Hebei Iron & Steel (Hegang) were assessed at Yuan 3,530-3,550/metric ton ($572-575/mt) last Friday, down a further Yuan 10/mt ($2/mt) following a similar drop last Thursday. Prices include 17% value added tax – source: SBB

Scrap
- Offer prices for US bulk scrap were at $380-385/metric ton CFR East Asia, whereas bids are $370-375/mt CFR – source: SBB
- A Taiwanese mill ordered one 30,000-mt cargo of US scrap for October shipment at around $380/mt CFR, for HMS I/II (80/20), at the end of the August 26 week – source: SBB
- In the US, the weekly domestic shredded obsolete scrap reference price fell by $10/long ton from the previous week to $358/lt delivered US Midwest mill – source: SBB
- H1 scraps in Pittsburgh were at US$349.5/long ton; those in Chicago were at US$354.5/long ton, and those in Philadelphia were at US$318.5/long ton – source: Yieh
