China’s Steel prices
Long steel prices
- On Beijing’s dealer market, spot prices for 18-25mm diameter HRB400 rebar sourced from Hebei Iron & Steel (Hegang) were assessed at Yuan 3,430-3,460/metric ton ($562-567/mt) with 17% VAT. This was up from Yuan 3,330-3,340/mt early last week – source: SBB
- Rebar for May delivery, the most-active contract by volume on the Shanghai Futures Exchange, declined as much as 0.6 percent to 3,654 yuan ($599) a metric ton before trading at 3,667 yuan at 11:19 a.m. local time - Bloomberg
Flat steel prices
- China’s export transactions for CRC continued to hover at $605-615 per tonne fob for December shipment, unchanged since October 22 – source: MB
- In Shanghai, CRC of 1.0mm thickness was traded at 4,280-4,340 yuan ($697-707) per tonne, unchanged from Steel First’s assessment last Friday, but narrowing downwards by 20 yuan ($3) per tonne from a week earlier – source: MB
- In China, prices of Q235 5.5mm HRC were at Yuan 3,470-3,490/metric ton ($569-572/mt) with 17% VAT in Shanghai and at Yuan 3,630-3,640/mt with VAT in Guangdong Lecong steel market, up Yuan 25/mt and Yuan 45/mt respectively from last Friday – source: SBB

Scrap
- The new delivered prices of H2 grade scrap are ¥36,000 ($365) per tonne for seaborne arrivals and ¥35,500 ($360) per tonne for overland arrivals at the Okayama works; ¥36,500 ($370) per tonne for seaborne arrivals and ¥35,500 ($360) per tonne for overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; ¥37,500 ($380) per tonne for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works; ¥35,500 ($360) per tonne for seaborne/overland deliveries to Tahara; and ¥34,500 ($350) per tonne for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Takamatsu steel centre – source: MB
- Transactions in the US ferrous scrap market continued Monday at prices $20-25/lt up from October settlements – source: SBB

- The London Metal Exchange’s three-month steel billet contract price stood at $240-250 per tonne on Monday November 4, unchanged from Friday – source: MB
Bar/Wire rod
- Taiwan’s Feng Hsin’s price for base-size rebar unchanged at TWD 17,800/metric ton ($606/mt) ex-works Taichung in central-west Taiwan – source: SBB
- Taiwanese import prices of 80:20 (in container) were at $358/mt CFR Taiwan port Friday, up $2/mt week-on-week- source: SBB
