China’s Steel prices
Long steel prices
- In Beijing, grade III rebar was traded at 3,200-3,220 yuan ($525-528) per tonne, unchanged since Monday – source: MB
Flat steel prices
- Chinese export offers for SS400B 3mm and above hot rolled coil have remained stable at $530-540/metric ton FOB since late last week – source: SBB
- Commercial-grade hot rolled coil (4.5-12mm) in Shanghai traded at 3,470-3,500 yuan ($569-574) per tonne, the same range as Wednesday’s – source: MB
Steel Prices in other countries
Scrap
- Platts daily assessment for shredded scrap fell to $420-425/lt delivered Midwest mill on Thursday. The midpoint is down $17.50/lt- source: SBB
Semis
- Demand for billet from Turkey is coming at $527-529/mt CFR Iskenderun, around $525/mt CFR Aliaga and $522-525/mt CFR Bartin/Marmara – source: SBB
- Cash prices for the semi-finished product also stood still at $350-360 per tonne, unchanged for the past three days of trading – source: MB
Bar/ Wire rod
- Rebar exports from Spain, Italy and Portugal are now sold at €460-465 ($627-634) per tonne fob main Southern European port for February and March production, up from €455-460 ($620-627) per tonne last week – source: MB
- Domestic rebar prices in Spain, Italy and France are now €480-490 per tonne delivered, for material to be rolled in January, up from €475-485 per tonne previously – source: MB
- To the Singapore market, Chinese offers for theoretical weight rebar were at around $510-525/mt CFR, similar as last week – source: SBB
HRC/P
- In Vietnam, the prevailing prices of imported boron-added hot rolled coil from China have fallen by around $5/metric ton to $540-545/mt CFR for 3-12mm thickness SS400 HRC and to $558-560/mt for 2mm base thickness SAE 1006 material – source: SBB
- Taiwan’s CSC would increase price on HRC by NT$450/ton and NT$360/ton on CRC, 500/MT on EG – source: Yieh
