China’s Steel prices
Long steel prices
- Tangshan (China), domestic, billet, traded on January 29 at 2,820 yuan ($462) per tonne, including VAT, 3pm Beijing time – source: Steel First
- North China, grade-III rebar, traded at 3,200-3,220 yuan ($524-527) per tonne, including VAT – source: Steel First
Flat steel prices
- Domestic prices for Q235 5.5mm HRC in Shanghai were also stable from the previous day at Yuan 3,430-3,450/mt ($566-570/mt) with 17% VAT – source: SBB

Scrap
- Another mill in the Iskenderun region booked a cargo from Baltimore, USA, comprising 30,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (85:15) at $385.50 per tonne cfr and 10,000 tonnes of P&S (plate and structural) scrap at $395.50 per tonne cfr – source: MB
- The final containerized ferrous scrap sales from the US West Coast ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday were concluded this week in the range of $342-345/mt CFR Taiwan, HMS I/II (80:20 basis) – source: SBB

Bars/Wire rods
- The sole integrated steelmaker in the United Arab Emirates, maintained its wholesale prices of rebar for February delivery at AED 2,241/mt ($610) ex-works – source: SBB
- Egypt (Ezz Steel), domestic, rebar, offered at E£4,950 ($709) per tonne ex-works, including 8% sales tax and 1% withholding tax, February production – source: Steel First
HRC/P
- The price range for domestically produced hot rolled coil (HRC) in Southern Europe moved up to €440-450 ($601-615) per tonne ex-works, from €430-440 per tonne ex-works on January 22 – source: MB
